Cayman Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Cayman Yachts is an Italian motor yacht brand with its yard in Tuscany. Its range is shaped by walkaround yachts, open boats with full side decks, and flybridge models; in 2023 the yard relaunched under the Cayman Yachts name and presented the S600 as its first new model. The abbreviations tell the type: WA for walkaround, Fly for flybridge, HT for hardtop, while on the newer ranges the letter F, S or N before the number marks the line, as in the F 450, S 640 or N 580. On older models the number roughly gives the length in feet, so a 62 Fly is about 18.9 metres.
Our model records list 35 Cayman models, 33 motor yachts, one motorboat and one catamaran, the 30 metre Cayman 100. Build years run from 1994 into current production, with ten models still listed. Lengths start at 7.5 metres with the Cayman 25, and half the models fall between 12 and 19 metres. The early walkaround boats such as the Cayman 30, 38 WA and 40 WA date from the 1990s, followed by the 43 WA to 58 WA, the 57 to 75 HT hardtops and flybridge yachts up to the 62 Fly. The current F, S and N lines run from 12 to 27 metres.
An Italian walkaround usually spends its life in the Mediterranean on a berth in Italy, Croatia or Spain. On yachts of this size, stabilisers, generator, air conditioning and electronics account for a large part of the value.

As the Cayman F450, Cayman F520,
Cayman F580 by Cayman Yachts and 7 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Cayman 52 WA, Cayman 62 Fly,
Cayman 100 by Cayman Yachts and 20 more series the market value and the replacement cost often
differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Cayman 30 Fly Bridge and Cayman 30 Walk Around by Cayman Yachts series there is no list
price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Cayman F450, Cayman F520, Cayman F580 by Cayman Yachts and further series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For the Cayman 100 by Cayman Yachts series:
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part,
and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For the Cayman 25 by Cayman Yachts series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
