Permare is a family yard from the Italian Riviera. Fernando Amerio founded it in Sanremo in 1973, and in its early years the company looked after other people's boats, offering marine services to owners along the Italian and French coast. Building its own yachts came later: in the early 1990s Permare launched its own brand, Amer Yachts. The family still runs the business, with the founder joined by his children Barbara, Rodolfo and Alexandra and a third generation already at work. New builds now come from Viareggio and Pisa, composite yachts up to 120 feet and steel hulls under the Amer Steel line, while Sanremo and Imperia handle refit and aftercare.
