Giorgi Marine; cover, cost and conditions

Giorgi Marine is a north Italian yard building motor yachts in the Italian sport cruiser tradition: fast planing hulls with a long foredeck, a big cockpit and diesel engines for Mediterranean passages. It works with hull families, so the 50 Aerotop, for example, uses the lines of the classic Giorgi 46 and sits alongside Open and HT sister models. The suffix tells you the superstructure: Open with a windscreen, HT with a fixed hardtop, Aerotop with an arch style roof and Fly with a flybridge. Must is a separate line of the yard, such as the Must 45, and the number is roughly the length in feet.

Our model records list 20 Giorgi Marine motor yachts, 15 under the Giorgi name and five as Must, with the Giorgi 50 Must linking both. Nine carry HT, five Open, two Fly and one Aerotop. The 39 Open and 46 Open open the list in 1989 and run until 1998 and 1997, after which the data resumes in 2002 with the Must 45. Eleven lines reach the latest build years, from the 45 HT to the 80 HT. Lengths run from 12 metres (39 Open) to 24.5 metres (80 HT).

These are marina yachts for summer cruising between harbours and anchor bays, lifted out for the winter in many yards. Hardtops and arch roofs keep the sun off the helm, but their seals and drains need checking every spring. Teak decks want gentle cleaning rather than pressure washing, and the generator and air conditioning a service before the season starts.
