Worth knowing
Gomar; cover, cost and conditions
Five motorboat model ranges, from the Gomar 450 to the Gomar 700, have been running since 2015 and 2016 respectively and are still built today. The programme is therefore young and covered throughout. Young boats can be insured with an agreed value that matches the purchase price and settled with no deduction for depreciation.
Where you sail also helps determine the premium: inland waters or coastal waters make a difference, as do value, year of construction and engine power. The brand itself plays no part in the calculation. Anyone who changes waters adjusts the cruising range so that the cover applies where the boat is actually used.
A Gomar 450 is already insured with us. Part of the basis of every contract is the third-party liability cover with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. We cancel the previous contract free of charge on request, so switching costs you no work of your own.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the premium change when moving from inland waters to the coast?
Yes, for Gomar too: the cruising range is one of the premium factors alongside the type of boat,
value, year of construction and engine power.
Report the change and the cover will apply in the new waters without a gap.
Is full hull cover worthwhile on a brand-new boat?
For Gomar: Full hull cover covers collision, grounding,
vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard and pays on the basis of the agreed value with
no deduction for depreciation.
With young boats in particular, the agreed value is retained in this way.
