How the place works

The Philippines lie in the middle of the typhoon belt and are brushed or hit by around twenty systems a year on average. The Luzon Strait between Taiwan and Luzon is the way through to the Pacific and has strong current and deep swell.

What breaks there

In season it is the typhoon, and the marinas are rarely built for it. Out of season it is reefs and the passage of the strait, where current against wind again produces the usual picture.

What this means for your policy

For this area the blackout question is the most important of all, because the season is long and the number of systems high. Settle which berth is accepted during the season.
