How the place works
The strait between Taiwan and the mainland is narrow, shallow and one of the busiest waterways in Asia. In winter the northeast monsoon pushes through and accelerates in the narrows, in summer typhoons pass, and the political situation makes the passage additionally delicate.
What breaks there
Dense traffic, fishing with nets and poor visibility from haze are the causes of material damage. Add contact with authorities, which for yachts here is not automatically friendly.
