How the place works
The largest port in Europe, and yachts are tolerated guests here among seagoing ships, tugs and inland convoys. The Nieuwe Waterweg is both approach and main road, traffic density is high and sight lines between the installations are poor.
What breaks there
The expensive case is never your own boat: forcing a seagoing ship to manoeuvre or hitting a port structure means figures that have nothing to do with the boat's value. Add suction and swell, which reach even supposedly sheltered moorings.
What this means for your policy
Here the liability limit alone decides. Check it before you enter, and also check whether the policy expressly covers navigation in seaports with commercial shipping.
