How the place works
One of the busiest waterways in the world, in places only a few miles wide, with separation schemes, anchorages full of waiting ships and heavy fishing traffic. Add haze and smoke from forest fires that cuts visibility for weeks.
What breaks there
For yachts, nets, unlit fishing boats and debris are the most common causes, plus crossing the separation schemes. Sailing at night without radar is not a good idea here.
