Anyone taking over a mini trawler today is buying a boat from a production period that ended in 1976. In a used purchase what counts is not the original purchase price but the value you agree with us as an agreed value. This sum is stated in the policy and is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Before the policy comes the purchase itself. Legal expenses cover for water sports can be included and applies to disputes after buying a used boat or with a yard. That way an argument about defects is covered before any hull claim is even in question.
The year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners play no part in acceptance. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels, supplemented by limited hull cover or full hull cover depending on the value and use of the boat.

What does an agreed value mean on a boat from the seventies?
For Bart: The value is settled when the policy is taken out and is fixed in the contract.
In a total loss we pay this sum with no deduction for depreciation (new for old),
regardless of how old the hull is.
