Worth knowing
BIKO-LODZIE; cover, cost and conditions
A single model is available for BIKO-LODZIE: the BK 400, a motor boat built from 2006 to 2013. No further model ranges are on record. That is irrelevant for the insurance, because what matters is the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range, never the size of the manufacturer programme.
With a motor boat of this kind a noticeable part of the value lies in the propulsion. The full hull cover from NAMMERT covers theft of parts including the outboard, plus collision, grounding and vandalism. Indemnity is paid at the agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
Since production ended in 2013, a BK 400 only enters the portfolio as a used boat. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Beneath the hull cover lies third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, and the boat trailer is included at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is the engine included in the theft of individual parts?
Full hull cover covers theft of parts including the outboard. Theft of the entire boat is already part of limited hull cover, as are fire, storm, lightning strike and damage in winter storage.
What details do you need for a BK 400?
Type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range are enough. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that an individual assessment follows.

Series by BIKO-LODZIE, build years and cover
BK 400 is a motorboat from BIKO-LODZIE, built from 2006 to 2013.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
