Worth knowing
Bluewater Cruising Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
At the beginning of every cover stands third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, selectable in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. For the four sailing yacht ranges 420 CC, 420 RS, 450 M and 520 PH, built between 1994 and 2015, it is the basis on which limited hull cover or full hull cover is built.
With sailing yachts the premium is based on the sail area instead of the engine power, and in addition on the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with a scoring status are to be stated when the policy is taken out. In this way the cover remains complete on race weekends as well.
All four ranges ran out in 2015, so what is on the market are used boats. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners and agree an agreed value for the value. We issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Which limit of indemnity can be chosen in third-party liability?
Third-party liability is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, graduated across the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Limited hull cover or full hull cover can be built on top of it.
Are races with a 420 RS covered as well?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Races with a scoring status are to be reported when the policy is taken out, then this use is also properly reflected in the contract.

Series by Bluewater Cruising Yachts, build years and cover
420 CC is a sailing yacht from Bluewater Cruising Yachts, built from 2009 to 2015.
420 RS is a sailing yacht from Bluewater Cruising Yachts, built from 1994 to 2015.
450 M is a sailing yacht from Bluewater Cruising Yachts, built from 2009 to 2015.
520 PH is a sailing yacht from Bluewater Cruising Yachts, built from 2009 to 2015.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
