Cantieri Navali Rizzardi S.r.l.; cover, cost and conditions
Cantieri Navali Rizzardi builds motor yachts at Sabaudia in Lazio. Gianfranco Rizzardi set up his business near San Felice Circeo in 1974 and from 1978 launched open sports boats under the CR mark, short for Cantieri Rizzardi. In 1993 the group took over the long established Posillipo brand, whose yard had started out in Naples, and brought production together near Sabaudia. That history shows in the names: early models are named after islands and coasts such as Aruba, Antigua, Martinica, Tobago and Costa Smeralda, the CR boats carry their length in feet, and the newest yachts are sold as Rizzardi with the IN and TL lines and the large Posillipo models.
Our model records list 29 models, all classed as motor yachts. Build years run from 1965 to 2027, and three models are still in production: the Rizzardi 48 IN, INfive and INsix at 15.25 to 19.6 metres. Overall lengths range from 7.6 to 37.2 metres, with half between 11.85 and 19.1 metres. The Aruba models and the Costasmeralda from the 1960s measure 7.6 to 7.8 metres, followed by the Martinica, Antigua and Tobago at 10.3 to 14.1 metres. The CR line from CR 45 to CR 73 covers 14.8 to 21.75 metres, built between 2000 and 2015. The Rizzardi Posillipo 77, 90, 97 and 122 run from 24 to 37.2 metres.
Rizzardi boats are fast planing yachts for Mediterranean summers. Engine hours and the service history of the big diesels, the condition of teak and hull, and the navigation and comfort systems fitted weigh most on value, far more than the build year of a well kept classic.
