Code 8 Yachts (Code 8 Cruiser) stands for the Code 8, a light racing yacht built by Code Yachts and drawn by the designer Andrej Justin. Hull and deck are carbon, and the spars come from the mast maker Pauger Carbon. The boat was conceived as a fast daysailer and racer for a crew of four to six with a total crew weight of up to 400 kilograms. The hull is eight metres long and 2.58 metres wide. The Code 8 made its name on Lake Balaton in Hungary, where it won the singlehanded race round the lake and the solo race from Keszthely to Kenese in both 2011 and 2012.

A carbon racer rewards careful ownership. Check the hull for impact damage around the bow and keel joint, because carbon can hide delamination under a clean surface; a tap test or a moisture meter helps. Inspect the mast step, chainplates and rudder bearings, where racing loads concentrate. Racing sails are often tired after a few seasons, so ask how old the wardrobe is. A used Code 8 that has spent its life on a lake has usually seen fresh water only, which is kind to metal fittings. Lifting the boat out over winter keeps the hull dry and light.
