Worth knowing
Crisidon; cover, cost and conditions
Theft of parts often affects the equipment rather than the whole boat. Full hull cover includes theft of parts including the outboard, plus vandalism, collision and grounding; theft of the entire boat is already contained in the limited hull cover. For a Crisidon that means: state the value of equipment and accessories when you take out the policy, then both are part of the cover.
A Microplus 503 and a Micro Plus 502 are already sailing in our own portfolio; boats from Crisidon are therefore familiar to us from practice. We insure regardless of year of build, place of purchase and previous owners, and in the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit, so that an older boat of the brand can also be fully covered.
The fact that a brand is not represented in every harbour makes no difference to the contract: small series and home-built boats can be insured, and the premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of build, engine power and cruising range, never on the name of the yard. A Crisidon is therefore rated in exactly the same way as the boat of a large-series yard.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
My Crisidon Microplus 503 is rare. Does it need a special rating?
No, not for Crisidon either: The premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of build,
engine power and cruising range, never on the brand.
We also insure boats from small series in the regular way.
Is a retrofitted outboard on a Micro Plus 502 covered?
Yes, for Crisidon too: full hull cover includes theft of parts including the outboard.
State the engine with its value when you take out the policy,
so that the sum insured reflects the boat together with its propulsion.
