De Koet; cover, cost and conditions
Third-party liability is the basis of every boat insurance policy: it covers damage that you cause to others with the boat, with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. That applies to a De Koet just as it does to any other brand, because the premium is never based on the name of the yard.
The Fellowship 28 from De Koet is already sailing in our own portfolio. What counts for the rating is the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range; place of purchase and previous owners play no part. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy directly online.
Hull insurance can be added to third-party liability: limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage, and full hull cover additionally covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts. Compensation follows the agreed value and is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
