Worth knowing
Doriff; cover, cost and conditions
For Doriff, 19 model ranges are recorded, from motorboat to motor yacht. The Doriff 680 ran from 1986 to 2005, the 660 WD from 1989 to 2018, while the 609 has been listed since 1989 and the motor yachts 7007 and 8008 since 2004 to this day. From our own portfolio, the 550, 609, 660 and 770 are insured.
Decades lie between the oldest and the most recent model ranges. The year of construction goes into the premium, as do the type of boat, value, engine power and cruising range. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In full hull cover you agree an agreed value, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
If the boat spends the winter ashore, cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route. There, limited hull cover includes fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat. We offer third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.

As the Doriff 609, Doriff 1000, Doriff 7007 by Doriff and 1 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Doriff 660 WD, Doriff 606 WD,
Doriff 680 by Doriff and 5 more series the market value and the replacement cost often differ
widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Doriff 660 CL, Doriff 880,
Doriff 660 by Doriff and 3 more series there is no list price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Doriff 609, Doriff 660 WD, Doriff 606 WD by Doriff and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the Doriff 1000, Doriff 7007, Doriff 8008 by Doriff and further series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For the Doriff 888 MS by Doriff series:
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts:
a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat,
and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
