Eurostar; cover, cost and conditions

Eight model ranges are on record, from the Euro Star 455 O to the Euro Star 685 C, all listed as motor boats and built between 1995 and 2005. No information is available on the origin or the orientation of the manufacturer. This has no effect on the insurance cover.

Even where the data is thin, the contract remains possible. Small series and home-built boats can be insured with us, and we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In every case the basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.

For full hull cover an agreed value is set and paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The premium depends on the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range. The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.

Frequent questions

Can small series and home-built boats also be insured?

Yes. We accept small series and home-built boats into the boat insurance. The basis is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, supplemented by limited hull cover and full hull cover.

What applies if there are hardly any documents on the manufacturer?

What counts for the contract are the details of the boat: type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range. Details about the manufacturer have no effect on the premium.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration

Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Inland, coastal and abroad; plan fairways, bridge clearances, draught and tides.

Equipment

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

Cruising range
