Worth knowing
Elvström; cover, cost and conditions
The basis of every policy is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. For the sailing boats and sailing yachts from Elvström, built between 1971 and 1988, it is the first building block, because even a collision in the harbour can reach sums that far exceed the value of the boat; that is why third-party liability comes first in every policy.
An H-Boot of this make is already sailing in our own portfolio. If you take part in club races with it or with an Elvström 717 One Design, that is included from the Basis-Plus tariff onwards; you state races with scoring status when you take out the policy so that the cover also applies on the race course.
All production periods, from the Nordisk Familiebåd to the Elvström 32, ended in 1988 at the latest, and today these boats change owner on the used market. NAMMERT insures regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners; the Premium tariff offers full hull cover with no age limit, an agreed value and indemnity with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Questions and answers

I sail club races with my H-Boot. Is that covered?
Club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff onwards.
You state races with scoring status when you take out the policy.
An Elvström H-Boot is already sailing in our own portfolio.
My Elvström has already had several previous owners. Does that make it harder to take out a policy?
No, not for Elvström either: we insure regardless of the year of construction,
the place of purchase and previous owners.
What matters for the premium is the type of boat, the value, the year of construction,
the sail area and the cruising range, not the history of the boat.

and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Nordisk Familiebåd, Elvström 717 One Design, Elvström 32 by Elvström and further series:
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts:
a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat,
and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
For the Elvström Sterna 20, Elvström 1/4-Ton by Elvström series:
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides.
A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
