ESPADON BOATS; cover, cost and conditions
ESPADON BOATS appears in our data as a builder of rigid inflatable boats, with a solid hull below and air-filled tubes around it. The range spans everything a RIB is asked to do: small tenders for a yacht, nimble boats for swimming coves and dive sites, and large models with a cabin for longer runs. The names are easy to read: the number roughly gives the length in centimetres, and Pro or CL names the line.
Our records list 16 Espadon models, all RIBs. The oldest is the Espadon 495, built from 2004 to 2010; every other line starts in 2014, the 1000 CL Cabin in 2018. Ten lines reach the latest model years. Seven carry the Pro suffix: 435, 450, 550, 625, 780 In-Board, 900 and 1000. Five belong to the CL line: 550, 625, 680, 770 and 1000 CL Cabin. The small 270, 325 and 355 and the 495 have no suffix. Lengths run from 2.7 metres (270) to 10.1 metres (1000 Pro and 1000 CL Cabin), with six models under five metres.
The small Espadons ride on a yacht's davits or a road trailer, the large ones live on a mooring or a dry stack. Tubes last longest when kept clean, out of strong sun and at the right pressure, which changes with temperature during the day. Outboards want a fresh water flush after each trip in salt water.
