Fiart Mare builds motorboats and motor yachts at Baia, on the bay of the same name in Bacoli, just west of Naples. The name is an acronym for Fabbriche Italiane per l'Applicazione di Resine Termoindurenti: founded in 1960 by Ruggiero Di Luggo, it started with the Conchita, a 3.60 metre fibreglass boat, and today builds using vacuum infusion. The number in a Fiart name roughly gives the length in feet, so a Fiart 60 is 18.5 metres long, and the line names Genius and Seawalker mark the two main families of recent decades.
Our model records list 31 Fiart models, 27 filed as motor yachts and four as motorboats. Build years start in 1983 and nine models are in current production. Lengths range from 5.7 to 18.5 metres, with half between 9 and 13.9 metres. The small open boats of 2001 to 2013 are the Brezza, Marea, Oasi and 23 Sport, from 5.7 to 7.2 metres. The Genius line runs from the 8.8 metre 28 Genius to the 50 Genius at 15.5 metres, while the Thunder and the Leader 38 date from the 1980s. Current production covers the 33 Seawalker, the 34 Genius, the 43 Seawalker and the Fiart 40, 43, 44, 47, 52 and 60.
Most Fiart yachts are day and weekend boats. Their value is driven largely by the engines: hours, the type of drive and the service record matter as much as the hull. On the larger models the generator, air conditioning, electronics and the state of the teak all weigh on how a buyer judges the boat.
