Fipa Italiana Yachts is the yard group behind the Maiora brand from Viareggio in Tuscany. Its roots go back to the early 1970s, when a small business there began moulding fibreglass hulls, partly for other builders. The Maiora brand dates from 1980, and in 1985 the owners of Fipa Italiana Yachts took over the yard and turned a hull supplier into a complete yacht builder. Smaller hulls are built in Viareggio, yachts above 30 metres in Massa. The number in a Maiora name roughly gives the length in metres; only the old Maiora 55 is named in feet.
Our model records list 26 Maiora models: 25 motor yachts and the Maiora 36 Harmony, listed as a motor boat. Recorded build years run from 1990 to 2027, and three models continue into current production: the Maiora 30 Convertible, 35 Exuma and 42 Exuma. Lengths range from 16.7 to 46.8 metres, half of them between 25.3 and 37 metres. The smallest is the 1990s Maiora 55 at 16.7 metres, followed by the Maiora 20 to 27 between 20.8 and 27.5 metres. The DP models run from the 29 DP at 29.3 to the 39 DP at 39.6 metres, and the Royale line tops the range with the 46 Royale at 46.8 metres.
A Maiora is a crewed yacht, used for Mediterranean summers and, for many owners, winters in the Caribbean. Value depends on hull and superstructure, engines and generators and their hours and the refit history.
