Gulf Craft was founded in 1982 in Ajman in the United Arab Emirates and builds motorboats and yachts in glass reinforced plastic. Production today is in Umm Al Quwain and the Maldives, with a service centre in Ajman. Several names sit under Gulf Craft: Majesty for the large yachts, Oryx for sports yachts and open cruisers, Nomad for explorer yachts and Silvercraft for smaller family and fishing boats. On Majesty and Ambassador models the number roughly gives the length in feet.
Our model records list 35 Gulf Craft models, 33 motor yachts and two motorboats. Build years run from 1997 to 2022, lengths from 6.1 metres for the Swan 20 to 43 metres for the Majesty 140. The earlier generation around the turn of the century includes the Ambassador from 24 to 55 feet and the Dolphin, Walkaround, Sport Fishing, Touring and Sindbad models of ten to twelve metres. Above them sits the Majesty range, from the 13.6 metre Majesty 44 through the 56, 66, 75 and 86 up to the Majesty 118, 125, 130 and 140 between 36 and 43 metres. The newest recorded model is the Oryx 379 at 11.5 metres.
A six metre open boat and a forty metre yacht lead very different lives. The smaller Ambassador and Dolphin models tend to sit on a coastal berth, while the large Majesty yachts run with crew, generators and extensive systems that call for individual attention.
