Hampton Yacht Building is listed with 44 models, 40 of them motor yachts and four sailing yachts. Build years run from 1991 to the present and lengths from 12.7 to 28.2 m. Two lines stand out: the numbered models 560 Sedan, 580 Pilothouse, 590, 650 and 700 including the Skylounge, and the Endurance range from the 600 to the 720, some of them in the LRC version.

Yachts of this size keep a permanent berth, cover long distances and carry a great deal of equipment on board. Cruising area, berth and value therefore determine the cover, together with the question of employed crew. For the older build years from the 1990s an agreed value is advisable, because refits to engine, navigation and interior define condition more than the build year does.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.

On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.

On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
