Hatteras Yachts builds motor yachts in New Bern, North Carolina. Two lines shape the range: sportfishers, yachts with an open working cockpit, a flybridge and high cruising speed for offshore fishing, and classic motor yachts with a continuous deckhouse. You recognise them by the high topsides, the superstructure carried well forward, and the GT and MY designations, with the number giving the length in feet.

Our model records hold 138 Hatteras models, 137 of them listed as motor yachts. Build years run from 1962 into current production and lengths from 8.5 to 37.3 metres. Sixty series are recorded, among them the GT family with the 54 GT, 59 GT, 65 GT and 70 GT, the 60 MY, 75 MY Panacera and 90 MY, the large 105 Raised Pilothouse, M90 Panacera and M98 Panacera, and the more compact GT 45 X in Flybridge, Tower and Open versions.

On a sportfisher the working life is the interesting part: offshore fishing, tournaments and charter are a different use from a berth in a marina.
