Jetten Yachting; cover, cost and conditions

Jetten builds motor yachts in the Netherlands. The business started in 1997 at Sneek in Friesland and delivered several hundred yachts over the years, mostly steel boats up to around fourteen metres for inland water and the charter trade. Larger and more elaborately fitted models followed later. The range is ordered by layout: AC for an aft deck, MPC for the multi purpose interior and Beach for the models with an open stern and a flat silhouette. You recognise the yachts by the very straight low sheer, the large continuous window bands and the low superstructure.

Our model records list 48 Jetten models, all of them motor yachts. Build years start in 2001 and run into current production. Forty eight series are recorded: the AC models 38, 41 and 45; the MPC models 42 and 50; the 50 MPC-FLY; the Beach models 45, 45-FLY, 53, 55 IPS and 60; and the custom versions 58 and 70. Under the Bommelaer name stand the Sedan models 47 and 52, the 58 AC and the 65 Blue Water, plus the Gamma 68 models. Lengths run from 8 to 23.3 metres, half the models between 11.4 and 17.8 metres.

Two very different boats wear this name. The smaller models were drawn for inland water and the charter trade, where locks, bridges and tight moorings shape both the hull and its wear. The larger ones sit on the coast with fitted systems aboard, and what matters about them is the inventory rather than the layout of the bridges they pass under.
