Klase A S.A.; cover, cost and conditions

Klase A is an Argentine yard that builds flybridge motor yachts and open yachts. Its range is a numbered K family, completed by two named models, the Antago and the Hunter. The number after the K is roughly the length in feet: the K-34 is 10.75 metres, the K-62 18.36 metres and the K-74 23.5 metres. Two types also come as HT versions, the K34 HT and K42 HT, with the same length as the base boat. The K badge makes these yachts easy to identify, though they turn up far less often in Europe than in South America.

Our model records list nine Klase A designs, all motor yachts. Seven belong to the K family, the K-34, K34 HT, K-42, K42 HT, K-50, K-62 and K-74, alongside the 14.95 metre Antago and the 10.75 metre Hunter. The K-62 opens the list in 2004, most lines start in 2010, the K-34 in 2013 and the HT versions in 2015. The K-62 and K-74 are recorded until 2022, the Hunter only until 2015. Sizes run from 10.75 to 23.5 metres.

These are berth yachts with large engines, built for coastal cruising and long weekends aboard rather than trailering. Generators, air conditioning and electronics need regular service, and the flybridge models want their canvas and upholstery stored dry in the off season. For a yacht bought from South America, transport and recommissioning are part of the plan.
