These are inland cruisers at heart, made for locks, lifting bridges and quiet moorings along a canal bank. A steel hull lasts for decades if the antifouling is kept up and the anodes are changed in time. Good fenders and a calm hand in the lock are the daily routine. Owners of the older 1990s boats often find a new engine or fresh wiring already done, and a dry winter ashore keeps condensation out of the cabins.
