Four model ranges are on record for the Levi Boat Company, the motor yachts Corsair Classic, Corsair Sport PMP and Corsair Work as well as the inflatable boat with an engine PMP 8punto5. With us the basis of every contract is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, on which limited hull cover and full hull cover build depending on the level.
The Corsair model ranges have been built since 2003 and 2016 and are still in production today; the inflatable boat with an engine was discontinued in 2019. For older and newer boats alike we set an agreed value and pay compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit on full hull cover. Collision, grounding and vandalism are covered there.
We have no details on the sizes or fields of use of the model ranges, nor are they needed for the premium. The calculation is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range, never on the brand. A boat trailer is included at no extra premium, and the cover applies during launching, craning and in winter storage.

Frequent questions
Can an inflatable boat with an engine be insured in the same way as a motor yacht?
Yes. Third-party liability, limited hull cover and full hull cover are open to both. Full hull cover includes theft of parts including the outboard, while theft of the entire boat is already borne by limited hull cover.
What applies to the model discontinued in 2019?
Nothing different. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The value is stated in the contract as an agreed value and is reimbursed in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
