Skylark RIB; cover, cost and conditions
Skylark RIB is a brand of TechSudProm, based in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The boats combine a rigid V hull with a PVC tube divided into five chambers. The name tells you most of what you need: a letter for the series (F, R, T or BR), a three digit figure that gives the length in centimetres fairly closely, and a trim code at the end. CL, S, LE and LX mark the different fit outs on current boats, while older ones were called Comfort, Pro or DC.
Our model records list 30 Skylark models, all rigid inflatables. Recorded build years start in 2013, and 21 of the 30 models are still in production. Lengths run from 3.65 to 7.15 metres, with half of them between 4.85 and 6.6 metres. The F series covers the F 420 and F 480 between 4.3 and 4.85 metres plus the F 700 LE at 6.85. The R series climbs from the R 500 at 5.3 metres via the R 570 at 5.85 to the R 700 LX at 7.0, and the BR 750 LX tops out at 7.15 metres. Three entries whose recorded length does not fit the type number are left out here.
Skylarks are fast, light and trailer friendly, used for fishing, diving and towing toys behind them. What a given boat is worth depends heavily on the outboard, its hours and power, on the state of the PVC tubes, which age with sun and salt, and on the console, seats and electronics fitted.

As the Skylark BR 600 LX, Skylark BR 750 LX,
Skylark F 420 CL by Skylark RIB and 18 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Skylark R 500S, Skylark R 500 Comfort,
Skylark R 500 Pro by Skylark RIB and 6 more series the market value and the replacement cost often
differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Skylark BR 600 LX, Skylark BR 750 LX, Skylark F 420 CL by Skylark RIB and further series:
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered,
porous fabric after years in the sun is not.
The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
