Top Line RIBs; cover, cost and conditions
Top Line is a Greek builder of rigid inflatable boats based in Spata, east of Athens, and founded in 1991. Its boats range from small tenders to maxi-RIBs with a cabin. The programme is organised in lettered series, joined by named designs such as the Pegasus, Corsair and Atlantic, and newer versions carry names like the CX 33. In the Max series the number roughly gives the length in centimetres, while in the C, P and S series it is closer to the length in feet. The letter in front of the number is therefore the quickest way to place a Top Line.
Our model records list 20 designs, all of them RIBs. The C series has six designs from the C 29 to the C 33 Cab, between 9.25 and 10.45 metres, and the Max series four boats from the Max 450 to the Max 570. Alongside them sit four P designs (P 23, P 23 S, P 27, P 27 S), three S designs (S 22, S 24, S 24 Cab), the TL 330 at 3.3 metres as the smallest boat, the Pegasus 20 Toursim and the Atlantic 36, at 11.8 metres the largest. The oldest entry is the Pegasus from 2016; all others start in 2017 or 2018. Ten designs, the complete C and Max series, reach the most recent build years, while the rest end in 2022 or 2023.
A RIB lives a hard life in sun and salt. On a used one the tubes come first: check the seams and glued joints, look for porous patches and test whether every chamber holds pressure overnight. Hypalon and PVC age differently, so it helps to know which material the tubes are made of. Under the tubes, the hull and transom deserve a careful look for cracks around the engine mounts. Outboard hours, steering cables and the fuel system tell the rest of the story. Larger C models with a cabin are used for longer coastal trips and often carry more electronics than the small Max boats.

On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered,
porous fabric after years in the sun is not.
The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
