Worth knowing
Wieker Boote; cover, cost and conditions
The Wieker Boote programme ranges from the rowing and motor boat through the Wittow models to the Rügenjolle and the sailing cutter; the Wieker Anka has been built since 1980, several model ranges run to this day. For the premium, engine power counts on the motorised boats and sail area on the sailing boats, along with value, year of construction and cruising range.
An Arkona from Wieker Boote already sails in our own portfolio. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners; moderate engine power shows up directly in the premium calculation, because engine power is a central calculation factor, whereas the brand name is not one at all.
Since sailing boats such as the Kajüt-Rügenjolle and the sailing cutter ZK 10/W belong to the programme alongside motor boats, the rule is: on a sailing boat the sail area takes the place of engine power. In both cases the basis remains the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros; you add hull insurance as required.

As the Wieker Anka, Wieker Arkona RN,
Wieker Kajüt-Rügenjolle by Wieker Boote and 6 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Rügenjolle, Vilm 112, Vilm II by Wieker Boote and 1 more series the market value and the
replacement cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Vilm 120 by Wieker Boote series there is no list price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Wieker Anka, Wieker Arkona RN,
Wieker Von Wiek Ruder-Motor-Boot by Wieker Boote and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the Wieker Kajüt-Rügenjolle, Wieker Kombiboot Rügen,
Wieker Segelkutter ZK 10/W by Wieker Boote and further series:
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides.
A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
For the Vilm 112, Vilm II, Admiral by Wieker Boote and further series:
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts:
a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat,
and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
