Boote Marian is a family run yard on the Wolfgangsee near Salzburg. Ion Marian set it up in 2000 as a repair and service business. When it moved to its present site in 2004 it began building its own boats, and it chose electric drive early on. Each boat is built by hand to the owner's wishes, with colour, fittings, materials and installations picked one by one. At boat shows the yard presents electric models such as the M 800 Spyder, the Magic 640, the Laguna 760 and the Delta 600. The range centres on open sports boats between six and eight metres.
Our model records list twelve designs, eleven motorboats and one motor yacht, the M 800. The entries start in 1991 and seven run into the most recent build years. The Capriole 700 appears twice, once from 1991 and once from 2005 to 2025. The Laguna 760 and Laguna 760 D both measure 7.6 metres, with the D version listed from 2012 to 2020. The Magic 640 ran from 2007 to 2022, and the Magic 640 L followed in 2013 and is still listed. The Delta 600 from 2004 and the Eclipse 580 from 2011 are the smaller boats, the Eclipse 580 at 6.12 metres being the shortest. The M 800 and M 800 Spyder arrived in 2016 and 2017 and are the longest at 7.9 metres. The Acapulco Classic and Acapulco de Luxe at 6.5 metres date from 2004 and are no longer listed.
An electric boat asks for battery care above all. Lithium packs dislike being stored completely full or completely empty, so owners usually keep them at a middle charge over winter and check the charger and cabling before the season. On a used Marian, ask for the age of the battery pack, its capacity today and the service history of the motor and controller. Because every boat was specified individually, the upholstery, woodwork and electronics vary a lot from one example to the next and are worth a close look. Lake boats see little salt, but the hull still needs a check around the stern gear and the bathing platform.
