parts are available and repair costs are predictable.

Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.

For the Caravela 27 Racer and Caravela 950 by Caravela Yachts series the market value and the

replacement cost often differ widely.

An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.

For the Caravela 22 and Caravela 25 by Caravela Yachts series there is no list price left.

That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,

and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.

For the Caravela 27 Day Sailer, Caravela GP 33,

On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides.

A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.

For the Caravela 520 Sport, Caravela 810 Sport by Caravela Yachts series:

On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered,

porous fabric after years in the sun is not.

The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.

For the Caravela 550 Classic, Caravela 550 Eco,

On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.

Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.

On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts:

a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat,

and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.

Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
