DarMar; cover, cost and conditions
As a manufacturer of motor boats and sports boats, DarMar has been building since 2010 and continues to do so today, from the 460 through the 470 Open to the 35 HT as a motor yacht. The programme comprises 15 model ranges from current production. Whether a new boat or a young used boat, the policy can be tailored precisely to the value and the use of your boat.
The basis of every policy is the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, selectable in the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. It steps in when third parties suffer damage caused by your sports boat, for example when berthing in a crowded harbour. Only on top of that do limited hull cover and full hull cover build up as protection for your own boat.
Two boats of the brand, a 575 and a 470, already sail in our own portfolio. The premium follows type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range, not the name DarMar. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you can take out the policy online, and you receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What limits of indemnity does the third-party liability offer for a DarMar sports boat?
For DarMar: 10 to 50 million euros, selectable in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
The third-party liability is the basis of every policy and covers damage that you cause to third
parties with the boat.
Is full hull cover worthwhile even for a young DarMar from current production?
For DarMar: The full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays compensation with no deduction
for depreciation ("new for old").
With a young boat the agreed value is therefore retained in full, even after several seasons.

As the DarMar 6.0 Open, DarMar 7.0 Sundeck,
DarMar 8.0 Sundeck by DarMar and 11 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the DarMar 575 by DarMar series the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the DarMar 6.0 Open, DarMar 7.0 Sundeck, DarMar 8.0 Sundeck by DarMar and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the DarMar 35 HT by DarMar series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
