Worth knowing
Ducauto; cover, cost and conditions
In our records Ducauto stands for small motorboats, from a 2.4 metre dinghy to a 7.5 metre sports boat. Most are compact boats under five metres of the kind used for short coastal trips, fishing or as a tender. The model names mostly sound Spanish, Chinchorro, Gaviota, Grumete, Delfin Pescador or Lider Vagabundo, next to Chicago, Miami, Festival Sport and Super Olimpic. Three models carry Remo or Remos, Spanish for oar, which points to rowing. Flash Fiesta, Flash Sport and Mini Flash form a small family of their own. On the larger boats the number hints at length: the Chicago 2100 and Miami 2100 are 6.3 metres, about 21 feet.
Our model records list 19 Ducauto models, all recorded as motorboats. The Festival Sport is the oldest with build year 1981, followed by the RIAMAR 490 from 1986, the Delfin Pescador from 1989 and the Junior from 1991; the other 15 lines start in 1990. Seventeen end in 1997, the RIAMAR 490 in 1992, and the Bahia is listed up to 2008. Lengths range from the 2.4 metre Chinchorro to the 7.5 metre Match V 750. Nine models stay under four metres, six sit between 4.3 and 4.9 metres, and four exceed five metres: Festival Sport, Chicago 2100, Miami 2100 and Match V 750.
Boats this size live on a trailer, in a shed or on the beach and go in over the slipway. After a day in salt water a fresh water rinse of hull and outboard keeps them in shape. Since every Ducauto in our records was built before 2009, a look at the transom, the fittings and the steering is worth more than the date on the papers.

For the Bahia by Ducauto series the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Bagur Remos, Challenger,
Chicago 2100 by Ducauto and 15 more series there is no list price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Bahia, Bagur Remos, Challenger by Ducauto and further series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
