Small series and self-built boats regularly raise the question of whether they can be insured at all. For Eco Hausboot we have one model range on record, the houseboat Eco, which has been built since 2021 and up to the present day. Such a single-model programme can also be insured in the normal way.
The basis is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, selectable in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. In addition, the limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage.
For the full hull cover we agree an agreed value and pay compensation with no deduction for depreciation; in the Premium tariff the age limit does not apply. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online, above that an individual review follows. The boat trailer runs along in the third-party liability at no extra premium from Basis-Plus, provided it is named in the application with its value. You can add it to the hull cover for a premium.
