Gommone is the Italian word for an inflatable, and the range includes both builds: soft inflatables whose tubes provide all the buoyancy, and RIBs with a rigid hull joined to the tubes. Each name is simply Gommorizzo plus a three digit number that gives the length roughly in centimetres, so the 400 is four metres long and the 750 seven and a half.
Our model records list six Gommorizzo models, all from build year 2019 up to the latest build years. Two are inflatables, the 400 at 4 metres and the 450 at 4.52 metres. Four are RIBs: the 510 at 5.1, the 600 at 6, the 700 at 7 and the 750 at 7.5 metres. In this range the line between the two builds falls at about five metres.
Small inflatables like the 400 and 450 often double as tenders or beach boats and travel in a car boot or on a light trailer. The RIBs from the 510 up are day boats for the coast and anchorages. Tubes stay supple when they are rinsed with fresh water, dried before storage and kept out of strong sun, and a padded trailer protects the keel of a RIB on long drives.
