Worth knowing
J.P.C. Powles; cover, cost and conditions
Engine power is one of the features that determine the premium. One range is recorded under J.P.C. Powles, the Bravo 31 from the years of construction 1994 to 2000. Together with the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range, this produces the premium; the manufacturer's name does not feed in.
No further information about the yard is available. Since production ended in the year 2000, these motor yachts come second hand today. We insure irrespective of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, and we set an agreed value in the contract, on which compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Part of the basis is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard. There is no time window and no night clause in hull insurance cover.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does more powerful engine equipment have an effect on the premium?
Yes. Engine power is one of the factors alongside the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. If the machinery changes, the contract should be adjusted accordingly.
How do you handle brands for which only one range is available?
Exactly as with any other. The individual boat is insured with its features. Small series and self-built boats can be insured with us as well.

Series by J.P.C. Powles, build years and cover
Bravo 31 is a motor yacht from J.P.C. Powles, built from 1994 to 2000.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
