Jachtwerf Bendie sits in Katwijk on the river Maas, a short way from Cuijk in the south of the Netherlands. The yard was founded in 1977 and still handles every stage of a boat's life: new builds, fitting out, maintenance and repair. Over the years it has built yachts to designs by Vripack, Martin Bekbrede, Barkas and van Vossen, and it runs its own Impressive line under the Bendie name. The Impressive 2300 shows the idea well: 23 metres long and 5.70 metres wide, with double glazing, central heating and air conditioning, while twin diesels give an unhurried cruising speed of 7.5 knots. She was planned for long spells aboard, even for living on board. A Bendie is about space and comfort rather than speed.
