Nowee is a yard from Heeg in Friesland that built steel motor yachts. Dutch brokerage listings describe the Caprice models as steel yachts with steel superstructure and teak decks, the Caprice 13.00 drawn by Jan Visser Yacht Design. Nowee also took over the IJlstervlet name, which refers to the Frisian town of IJlst and a boat type that grew up there. The yachts fall into three families: IJlstervlet, Caprice and the Nowee DL models. On the IJlstervlet 12.80, AK and OK follow Dutch usage for aft cabin (achterkajuit) and open cockpit (open kuip).

Six entries belong to the IJlstervlet family (9.00, 9.15, 10.50, 12.80 AK, 12.80 OK and 1300 OC), two to the Caprice (1150 DL and 1300 DL) and three to the Novi or Nowee 38 DL, 42 DL and 49 DL. Build years start in 1995 with the Caprice 1300 DL; most lines end in 2012, the 9.00 and the Novi vlet 6.50 in 2005, and the Nowee 49 DL is recorded until 2014. Lengths range from 6.5 metres (Novi vlet 6.50) to 14.9 metres (Nowee 49 DL), with four models at exactly 12.8 metres.
A Nowee is a cruiser for Frisian lakes, Dutch canals and the big rivers, with the steel hull and teak deck that make long trips comfortable. Teak wants cleaning with plain water and a soft brush rather than harsh chemicals, and steel asks for touched up paint wherever fenders and lock walls leave marks. Anodes should be checked every haul out. A winter berth under a roof keeps the deck and the varnish in good order for the next season.
