Prestige Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Prestige is the motor yacht brand of the Groupe Beneteau and builds flybridge and sedan yachts between 12 and 20 metres in France. The boats are designed for comfortable cruising, with generous cabins and IPS pod drives from Volvo Penta. In insurance terms the pod drive is a case of its own: it sits lower than a shaft installation and is the first thing to make contact in a grounding.
A damaged pod is expensive, the repair regularly runs into five figures per unit, and with two pods that doubles. Full hull cover covers grounding together with consequential damage to the drive, limited hull cover does not. On a yacht with pod drives, full hull cover is therefore not optional, and the deductible should bear a relation to the pod repair, not to the hull value.

Licence
