Savamarine; cover, cost and conditions
Savamarine stands in our records for inflatable boats sold under the Sava name. The range is inflatables only, from a small tender to a five metre raft. The model number gives the size almost exactly in centimetres: the Sava 275 is 2.75 metres long, the Sava 440 4.4 metres. Suffixes mark versions, T on the smallest boat, B on a variant of the 350 and WK on two boats in the four metre class. The rafts form a group of their own, in tour and uni versions, both among the longest boats in the list.
Our model records list ten Sava inflatables. They run from the 2.1 metre Sava 210 T to 5 metres, a length shared by the Sava 500 and the Raft 500 tour and Raft 500 uni. Two boats stay below 3 metres, the 210 T and the 275, and five measure 3.5 to 4.4 metres: the 350/350 B, 380, 380/360 WK, 420 WK and 440. The Sava 440 has the longest run, from 1990 to 2003; the other nine lines run from 1993 to 1999.
An inflatable lives in a car boot or a garage more than in a marina. Rinse it with fresh water, let it dry completely before folding, and store it away from sunlight and sharp edges. Older PVC or rubber tubes need a pressure check at the start of each season, and glued seams and valves are the first places to look for slow leaks.
