Seven Seas Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Seven Seas Yachts is a young British brand based in London, founded in 2011 by Nikolaos Politis. Its range pairs large flybridge yachts with small retro styled boats. The best known is the Hermes Speedster, an open boat whose lines borrow from the Porsche 356 Speedster of the 1950s: rounded shapes, a low windscreen and a stern like a classic sports car. The big yachts carry the Legend name with a number close to the length in feet. The builder now lists its smaller boats as the Venus series, with Speedster, GranTurismo and Voyager; in our records most still carry the Hermes name.
Our model records list ten Seven Seas designs, nine motor yachts and one motorboat, the 9.65 metre Venus Speedster. The Hermes line has four models: Speedster and Speedster E at 6.75 metres, the 11 metre Voyager and the 16.95 metre Granturismo. The Legend line also has four, the 16.92 metre Legend 54, the 17.26 metre 56 Fly and the Legend 72 and 72 Fly at 22.07 metres, the largest boats of the brand. The 17.12 metre S56 Open completes the list. Build years start in 2016; the Legend 72 and S56 Open end in 2020, while the other eight run into the latest years.
The range spans two very different lives. A Speedster is a weekend boat that can travel on a trailer and wants a tarpaulin and a dry winter to keep its upholstery and varnish fresh; the electric Speedster E adds battery care to the list. The Legend yachts stay on a marina berth, often in the Mediterranean, with crew or a service yard looking after systems, teak and hull.

production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable.

For the Seven Seas Yachts Hermes Granturismo, Seven Seas Yachts Hermes Speedster,
Seven Seas Yachts Hermes Speedster E by Seven Seas Yachts and further series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For the Seven Seas Yachts Venus Speedster by Seven Seas Yachts series:
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
