Sheerline belongs to Norfolk. The cruisers are built in Wroxham, right on the Norfolk Broads, the web of rivers and shallow lakes in the east of England. The registered maker is Wroxham Marine Ltd, and the earlier Sheerline 740 is credited to Wroxham Marine in neighbouring Brundall. George Smith founded the business, and Peter Applegate later took it over. The boats are drawn for inland water and it shows: a sheltered aft cockpit with a horseshoe of seating round a folding table, a low profile and a helm where the arch and windscreen fold down. With both lowered, the top of the helm console becomes the highest point of the Sheerline 950, which is exactly what the low Broads bridges ask for.

Below there is a galley with oven and four burner hob, a forward cabin with a double berth, an aft cabin with a single and diesel heating for cool evenings on the river. River cruising is gentle on an engine but hard on rubbing strakes and gelcoat, so lock walls and crowded moorings tend to leave their marks along the topsides.
