Worth knowing

Sparkman & Stephens; cover, cost and conditions

As a design office of the classic era, this name stands above designs from 9 to 14 metres from the years 1935 to 1990 and above the Swan 36 to 48 from 1965 to 1985. Many classics sail to an S&S design under the name of another yard, and for the contract it is the boat that counts anyway, not the name.

When design and building yard do not coincide, it helps that we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners and that we also accept small series and self-builds. The premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range.

With yachts that have been sailing for decades, the agreed value is at the centre of the contract. It fixes the agreed figure, indemnity is paid with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff without an age limit. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.
