The agreed value is therefore agreed when the policy is taken out and paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). A refit changes this value, which is why conversions and new equipment belong in the schedule attached to the contract.
At lengths of 15 to 30 metres, sums insured quickly become large. Up to 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online; above that an individual assessment follows. For the rating, type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range count, and third-party liability extends to a limit of indemnity of 50 million euros.

How is a one-off build valued?
