Worth knowing
Starlett Plast; cover, cost and conditions
During craning and in winter storage, damage occurs that has nothing to do with being under way. At Starlett Plast one range is recorded, the Island 26 with years of construction from 1970 to 1979. Our cover applies there as well as during launching and on the transport route.
Damage in winter storage is already included in limited hull cover, together with fire, storm, lightning strike and the theft of the entire boat. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts and pays compensation according to the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
Production ended in 1979, the Island 26 continues to be sailed. We insure irrespective of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, in the Premium tariff the agreed value applies with no age limit. Hull insurance cover knows no time window and no night clause.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is the boat protected while stored ashore?
Yes. Damage in winter storage belongs to limited hull cover, and the cover applies equally during craning, during launching and on the transport route. There is no time window in hull insurance cover.
Is a single model range treated differently?
No. For the premium, type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range count, never the brand or the number of ranges listed.

Series by Starlett Plast, build years and cover
Island 26 is a motor yacht from Starlett Plast, built from 1970 to 1979.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
