Symbol Yacht Co.; cover, cost and conditions

Symbol Yachts was formed in Taiwan in 1982 and built semi custom motor yachts for export: classic models, pilothouse yachts and deck boats. From 1998 the yard worked with an American designer who shaped the lines of the later models, and sales went through dealers in Australia, Singapore and the United States. Our records also hold the older models of the Edership range. You recognise the yachts by the tall boxy superstructure with its large upright windows, the walkaround side deck and the wide aft deck.

Our model records list 39 models from this yard, all of them motor yachts. Recorded build years run from 1977 to 2013. Thirty nine series are recorded: the Symbol 41 DC, 41 Sedan, 47 DC, 53 and the 66 in its Euro Classic version; the Edership models 35, 36, 37 PR Sedan, 38 NY DC, 39.5 President, 41 DC, 41 Sedan, 47 DC, 53 DC and 60; the Edership MS 650 Costa and the MS 730, 780 and 800 Ozeano; and the Dyna 45 and 50 Sedan. Lengths run from 10.5 to 24.4 metres, half the models between 12.5 and 17.4 metres.

Semi custom building is the thing to understand here. Two yachts of the same designation can differ in machinery, electronics and joinery because each was specified by its first owner, which means the model name tells you where a boat started and the inventory tells you what it became.
