Thomasz Yachts builds motor yachts in Sneek in Friesland, a town whose canals and nearby lakes make it one of the boatbuilding centres of the Netherlands. Rudy and Nelie Reineman founded the yard in the 1990s. In 2021 the Jetten family took over, bringing three decades of experience in yacht building according to the broker who lists the brand. Since then the yachts have been built in limited numbers and entirely in the Netherlands. Hulls are steel and power comes from diesel engines. The look is classic Dutch steel construction with a modern line; the letters AC stand for the aft cabin layout, and there are open cabrio versions as well.
Our model records list two designs, both motor yachts. The Thomasz 35 measures 10.6 metres and is shown for build years 2002 to 2008. The Thomasz 38 AC reaches 11.6 metres and runs from 2020 to 2024. Neither line continues into the most recent build years. More than ten years lie between the two, a period in which the yard built other models that do not appear under this name in our records. At between ten and twelve metres, both are at home on canals, lakes and rivers as much as on the coast.
Steel is forgiving, but it rewards attention.
