Worth knowing
Trans world Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Winter storage, craning and launching are part of every season, and the cover continues throughout. The limited hull cover pays for fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Documented are the Del Rey 43 motor yacht and the Transworld 41 sailing yacht.
The Del Rey 43 was built from 1990 to 1997, the Transworld 41 from 1982 to 1988. Both build periods lie in the past. The agreed value holds the value agreed upon, compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
With the motor yacht the engine output enters the premium, with the sailing yacht the sail area, plus the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is there cover during storage ashore?
Yes. Cover applies in winter storage, when craning, when launching and on the road. Damage in winter storage is already included in the limited hull cover.
How are two such different ranges classified?
Separately by type of boat. For the motor yacht the engine output counts, for the sailing yacht the sail area. The value, the year of construction and the cruising range are added in each case, the brand is not.

What matters for motor yachts is the same across every brand; engine output, how a claim is settled, cruising range and theft protection. The class page lists every point and every brand in this class.

Series by Trans world Yachts, build years and cover
Del Rey 43 is a motor yacht from Trans world Yachts, built from 1990 to 1997.
Transworld 41 is a sailing yacht from Trans world Yachts, built from 1982 to 1988.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
